Casement Furniture Hardware
You’ll want to choose casement window furniture that works well with your window style and type. There are three major types of casement fasteners used to keep your windows closed. Stays can also be implemented in order to keep a window closed or stop it from slammed.
Casement Fastener Hardware
A mortise or wedge type fastener is utilized when a casement is closed against the frame itself, a hook fastener is used with the casement and the frame sit flush. Some sets will include both options.
Casement Stay Hardware
This hardware is a long bar that contains holes. These are fit to the opening of the window. Pins are typically position on the window frame, and can be used to hold the window closed tightly. Alternatively the pins can be slotted to keep the window open a desired amount.
Sash Furniture Hardware
This hardware is specially designed to allow an ease of lifting and locking a window in place. This hardware will typically include locks, sash lifts, and sash pulls. Sash stops can also be used on either side of your window for added security. Sash typically has less moving parts than casement hardware does.
Sash Fastener Hardware
Sash fasteners are used to hold two sections of the window that slide together. These typically work in two-parts mechanisms.
Crank Window Hardware
Crank window hardware is an extremely popular casement choice. It is available in a variety of integrated styles and finished that fold away from the sill.
